Janine has been a member with us for over a year now, so I decided to sit down and find out a little bit more about her story and why she trains with us every day!
So why did you join LIFT in the first place?
I needed guidance and consistency. I had started working out regularly but had definitely not found my way. I needed set programs, motivation and a group of people to have fun with!
What was your first impression? How has that changed?
I hated the barbell!…. Hated it!
I remember doing my first intro and I just didn’t get it, it felt so unnatural and odd. It took me a while to get used to it, but now I prefer the workouts with a barbell exercise & I actually don’t like a workout without it! What made me change my perspective is I now have a better understanding of what is needed to meet your goals thanks to all the education and support from the coaches.
What are you working on now?
Ab strength is so important to me as my lower back is weak. I’m always trying to strengthen this area. I’m also constantly trying to hit the RX on workouts, even when I think I can’t.
If you could go back in time, what would you tell Janine of 1 year ago?
Not to be such a wimp! (Still working on this now!).
Push myself more! I now know that the harder I work each workout the quicker I will get to reach my targets, and with the coaches motivation and support through every session I know that I can go harder whilst being safe.
